Oedipus Journal 1
Most of the story is told through dialogue of the characters with add ins of stage terms that help convey a mental image while reading. Possibly told through third person? It is told by the characters' dialogue and their interactions with each other, the stage remarks contribute. It remains this way through out the play by what I can tell. I do not think Oedipus is very reliable. He seems to be on the fence about some things or contradicting to himself sometimes. The reader gets a general idea about the characters. Some are expressed with more detail than others and some have more dialogue, which gives the reader more insight about their point of view. Characters do not have an extensive amount of background information, except for Oedipus at some points when he ventures into his past. He is held with high respect among his people. Some characters are more credible than others, and some I do not even think about that with as much. The writer persuades the reader to take a general liking toward Oedipus by the way he is talked to and about by Phosivles.
