- Why does he only speak positively about the sun when Marie is near.
- Does he refer to the two men as "Arabs" to distance himself away from the realization that they're human beings?
- Why doesn't Mersault connect with anything emotionally? He only does in a physical manner.
- Why did Raymond and Mersault keep walking towards the Arabs instead of turning back?
