PART 1:Langston Hughes was a man who made his work known during the Harlem Renaissance. He was a colored man. He was most famous for his way of making poetry have a jazz rhythm to it. His works were very influential during the 1920's. His signature writing piece was "The Negro Speaks of Rivers".


PART 2:Rules for my dialect:
Grammar:

• Put the first two words at the end of the phrase. "Like the way you talk I do." when you talk to someone you do not like
• Have to say words completely. Suffering- "Suff'ring" say as three syllable word, "Suffering"
• Every word ends with S
• Hiccup frequently within sentences

Pronunciation:

• "I" is "me"
• "Th" is "Z"
• "er" is said with much emphasis "errr"

Vocabulary:

• Washa=mine
• Bloq=dummy
• Smoosh=understand

PART 3: Story

 


This is a story about a alien named ZicXhe and a man named Langston Hughes. These two meet at a hotdog stand on their way to the National Conference of Winnie the Pooh or NCWP. 


ZicXhe was walking along singing when all of a sudden his eyes are caught by the extreme wiggling of Langston's eyebrows. 
"Ayes Mans hows yous (hiccup) dos thats?!" ZicXhe remarks curiously. 
"Well maybe if you had eyebrows my good fellow, I could show you." Langston says snidely.
"Bloqs, mes wishs (hiccup) mes coulds smooshs yous becauses mes gots eyebrows ins mes bottoms" He smirks. 
"Excuse me? You cannot smoosh me. I'm too young and talented to die." Mr. Hughes states.
"Yous looks olds tos mes. Zasts is zes truths(hiccup)." He shouted for everyone to hear.
Langston was getting frustrated with ZicXhe, so he turned to the hotdog man and said, "hey man, can I get some mustard with that?"
ZicXhe loved mustard so he snatched the hotdog, "Zats washa! Mes zakes zats!" he said to Langston.
"You need some serious help!" Langston exclaimed. 
"(hiccup) somes serious helps yous needs." ZicXhe replied.
"What are you talking about?!" Langston said angrily. 
"Yous zalkings abouts whats ares?" ZicXhe said as he rubbed the hotdog in his face.
By this time both of them were getting angry and the hotdog stand was making a lot of money due to ZicXhe's quick digestive system. 
"Here sir, have a another hotdog." The hotdog man said with a smile.
"Thanks yous, yous ares toos kinds." ZicXhe said admiringly. 
"This is ridiculous (hiccup). What is going on? Why? (hiccup, hiccup, hiccup)" Langston was hiccuping so much that he couldn't talk anymore and he passed out.
ZicXhe was excited that his spell worked, he bent down, took his wallet and transformed into Langston.
He walked away grinning as he said "Bloq".
